General Accounting Supervisor

Job Description:

  • Oversees the jobs and responsibilities of all accounting analysts and associates. 
  • Makes sure that the 3-way matching rule, processing lead time, monthly AP monitoring schedules and documentary requirements for the processing of Accounts Payable are being adopted or followed by the persons in charge of transactions. 
  • Closely monitors the completion of transaction reports in the System not only by the accounting section but also by other sections or departments for the month-end closing requirements, and provides update of its progress.
  • Implements and improves the KPI’s accounting system that complies with the existing relevant Philippines law, rules, regulations and standards applicable to the Company.
  • Checks various reports and audit schedules of the accounting members prior to submission to the management, auditors, government agencies, and other sections or departments.
  • Suggests or recommends sound accounting rules, polices or procedures to smoothen or improve the job or process flow in the Accounting Section. 
  • Provides guidance and support to the subordinates and communicates well their needs for improvement and development and ensures that reciprocal relationship between them and their section head remain intact. 
  • Provides support or address queries or concerns of other departments or section relating to financial or accounting matters, and elevate it to the section manager those aspects that he’s unsure about.
  • Performs ad hoc functions or tasks such as taking lead of the section in the absence of the section manager.

Qualifications:

EDUCATIONAL ATTAINMENT

  • College graduate
  • BS in Accountancy graduate is preferred
  • Graduate of any finance/business related course but with extensive exposure in handling accounts payable job WORK EXPERIENCES: 
  • Had worked as a general accounting supervisor before or any accounting job titles with deeper knowledge or meaningful experience in general accounting jobs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES: 

  • Must be a computer literate person and able to lead a team of professional workers. 
  • Proficient in using Microsoft office applications, BIR systems and applications, and other accounting software(s). Knowledge on using SAP accounting software is a plus or advantage. 
  • Have knowledge on usage of principal and supplementary invoices and receipts such as but not limited to the following: sales invoice (VAT and Non-VAT), official receipts (VAT and NonVAT), delivery receipts, order slips, debit and/or credit memos, purchase orders, job order, bill of lading, and any other related documents.
  • Have knowledge on usage of different Forms such as Accounts Payable Voucher (APV), Check Voucher (CV), Petty Cash Voucher (PCV), Request for Payment (RFP), Cash Advance Form (CA), Purchase Requisitions (PR), etc…
  • Updated on the relevant and applicable tax rules and regulations
