FINANCE HEAD MANAGER/COMPTROLLER

Job Description:

  • Preparing and publishing timely and accurate financial statements, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Overseeing all accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Coordinating the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, monitoring performance against them, and analyzing variances.
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring internal control policies and procedures to ensure financial accountability and compliance with established accounting standards and regulations.
  • Managing the internal audit function and assisting external auditors during their reviews.
  • Collaborating with the executive team to determine effective ways to handle corporate funding, tax issues, and growth financing.
  • More commonly used in government, non-profit organizations, and large corporations, the role focuses heavily on the accuracy of historical financial data, internal controls, and compliance. The title is often spelled "controller" in private businesses and "comptroller" in public sector roles.
  • Often implies a slightly broader role that may encompass more forward-looking financial management, such as capital budgeting, financing decisions, and market analysis, alongside the accounting functions. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in finance/accounting·
  • At least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role
  • Preferably with background in manufacturing or food processing industry.
