Job Description:

The Project Engineer reports directly to the General Manager and Operations Manager and will perform a variety of engineering functions for commercial and industrial facilities including

Take charges of project planning, scheduling, documenting, estimating and negotiating request for contract change orders, approving project expenditures, writing scopes for sub-contractor bid request, soliciting sub-contractor quotes, issue and manage sub-contracts;

 

Communicates and negotiates regularly with owner, consultants, contractors, and other trades ensuring projects are completed within time and budgetary constraints;

 

Takes responsibility for the sound financial management of projects, daily accomplishments and progress billings;

 

Manages customer-contractor-subcontractor relationships;

 

Confers with the team to discuss possible changes project specifications and procedures subject for approval of project managers and consultants;

 

Coordinates and directs projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directs integration of other technical activities;

 

Analyses technology, resource needs, and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of the project;

 

Plans and directs the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment;

 

Defines, directs, reviews, and approves product design and changes;

 

Recruits employees; assigns, directs, and evaluates their work; and oversees development and maintenance of staff competence;

 

Prepares proposals, and contracts, and directs negotiation possible additive/deductive cost change;

 

Develops and implements policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department/ jobsite;

 

Performs administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services;

 

Reviews, recommends or approves contracts and cost estimates;

 

Manages customer-contractor-subcontractor relationships.  Presents and explain proposals, reports, and findings to customers;

 

Consults or negotiates with customers when preparing project specifications.

 

Directs the engineering of waste control, defines cutting factor, creates methodology that will eliminate waste;

Completes paperwork in a neat, accurate, thorough and timely manner;

Provides high level of customer satisfaction;

Promotes and ensures adherence to ISO Quality Standards;

Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Registered Mechanical Engineer or BSME Graduate

With 2-5 years working experience in mechanical estimating, attending project pre-bid meetings, preparation and presentation of process and HVAC piping estimates as well as chiller system, cooling tower systems, package boiler, air compressor and manufacturing process mechanical equipment installation

With current non-professional or professional driver license

Excellent customer service skills

Proficient in multiple software programs that includes word processing, spread sheets, Microsoft project scheduling and various estimate software

Competently operate microprocessor based devices

Well-developed verbal and written communication skills

Ability to make competent decisions

Ability to present technical information in one-on-one or group discussions in a confident and concise manner

Ability to deliver results and manage competing priorities

Possess clear and concise verbal and written communication skills

 

Familiar with ISO 9001:2015 standards

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear

Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs.

Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance

Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

Frequent exposure to one or more disagreeable conditions, such as outdoor work in weather extremes, undesirable environment and moderately hazardous conditions. Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
